THANK YOU FOR RACING FOR HUMANITY AND RAISING OVER $25,000 FOR PALMERA PROJECT’S EMPOWERING PROJECTS!
FIRST 2010 Palmera Meeting: 7pm 30th March, Kindness House, Brunswick. All welcome but please email us for a phone interview.
The Human Race kicked off bright and early on the lawns of University of Melbourne with Latin Lover’s Street Side Salsa team heating up the warm up exercise. After some hip shaking, cha –chas and shimmies, the 30 teams were presented with their first clue. The excitement of receiving the first clue may have thrown many into confusion, but teams soon scattered in different directions heading to hit the streets of Melbourne for a jam packed 4 hours of fugitive hunting, free hug providing services, paper building construction, challenges involving ping pong balls and chutes , word puzzles and awareness raising activities. Despite faces of exhaustion, spirits were high with the feeling of accomplishment and many funny stories of the day! Congratulations for the mammoth fundraising efforts by all the teams, we raised more than $25,000 !!! Well done everyone!
The Human Race photo links can be found through Lisa Germany Photos Slide show and Melbourne Photography Meetup Slide show.
This race for humanity was raising funds for two beneficiaries; Caritas and Asylum Seekers Resource Centre –ASRC participated valiantly with some of their 5 teams obtaining top 10 placements!
